Mercy Inc. provides clean water to South Asian villages with no access to safe drinking water.

In South Asia, many villages do not have access to safe drinking water. Most villages have water with very high levels of arsenic in it. Arsenic effects can include thickening and discoloration of the skin, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, numbness in hands and feet and partial paralysis. Arsenic also has been linked to cancer of the bladder, lungs, skin, kidney and nasal passages.

Mercy Inc. shared the Good News of Jesus along with acts of compassion with the goal to transform whole communities in a lasting, sustainable way.

The purpose of this project is twofold… First, Mercy is trying to provide safe drinking water to the villagers in South Asia. Second, and more importantly, Mercy is trying to provide education as to why some water sources are dangerous. Through a partnership with Every Home for Christ, over 3,448 wells have already been put in service in three countries in South Asia: Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal.
